Cozy Mysteries I’ve Been Loving Lately: Summer Edition

It’s officially summer! And I realized all of the cozies I’ve been loving lately are perfect for reading in the summer time. Instead of warm, inviting tea shops and snowy settings, I’ve been reading cozies with themes centered around tourist locations, home projects, and summer time fun. So here are five cozy mystery series to add to your summer reading list.

Seaside Café Mysteries by Bree Baker

Book One: Live and Let Chai

Everly Swan has recently opened an iced tea shop in her hometown of Charm right on the sea, making this series the perfect beach read. There are currently four books in the series with the fifth coming out in December of this year.

Bakeshop Mysteries by Ellie Alexander

Book One: Meet Your Baker

This long-running series currently has eleven books, with the twelfth book coming out in December, as well as some additional short stories. After leaving behind her job on a cruise ship, baker Juliet Capshaw returns home to work at her family’s bakery in Ashland, Oregon.

House-Flipper Mysteries by Diane Kelly

Book One: Dead as a Door Knocker

Whitney Whitaker gets a steal of a deal on a rundown house and decides to flip it with the help of her cousin and best friend. Her cutie cat Sawdust is a highlight of this series. There are currently two books in the House-Flipper Mysteries with the third book coming out in February 2021.

Marygene Brown Mysteries by Kate Young

Book One: Southern Sass and Killer Cravings

Marygene Brown has returned to her hometown on the island of Peach Cove to work at the family diner. Her mama’s ghost appears and guides her as she solves murders around Peach Cove. There are currently two books in this series.

Hampton Home & Garden Mysteries by Kathleen Bridge

Book One: Better Homes and Corpses

Set in the East Hamptons, interior designer Meg Barrett works hard at her new business Cottages by the Sea. There are currently four books in the series with the fifth book coming out in just a few days on July 2nd.
